Your report will include details of any deviations from current standards together with a list of any remedial work deemed necessary. If required we will quote for remedial works, but you are under no obligation to get this work done by ourselves.
What Is Involved In A Periodic Inspection?
We will check your electrical installation against the requirements of BS7671 – Requirements for Electrical Installations, which is the national safety standard for electrical installations.
The Period Inspection Will Take Into Account:
- Adequacy of earthing and bonding
- Suitability of the Consumer Unit
- Serviceability of switches, socket-outlets and light fittings
- Type of wiring system and its condition
- Provision and correct operation of residual current devices (RCD)
- Presence of adequate identification and notices
- Extent of any wear and tear, damage or other deterioration
- Changes in use of the premises which have led to, or might lead to, deficiencies in the installation
What is a Periodic Inspection?

Periodic Inspection Report
All electrical installations deteriorate over time due to general wear and tear. A Periodic Inspection is an inspection on the condition of an existing electrical installation.
Our Electricians will identify any electrical deficiencies. It is essentially an MOT for your properties electrics.
Periodic Inspection Reports are for:
- Revealing if electrical circuits or equipment is overloaded
- Finding any potential electric shock risks and fire hazards
- Identifying defective DIY electrical work
- Highlighting lack of earthing & bonding
- Detecting any deterioration of concealed wiring
- Also known as Home Buyers or Landlords Report
